Long-term Target employee Clinton’s enthusiasm and dedication has hit the mark, taking out the first ever employee of the month award for his Burnie store recently.
Clinton has been employed by Target for almost ten years and has been supported by EPIC Assist (EPIC) throughout his employment journey.
Target Store Manager Lisa Smith said Clinton was the perfect recipient for the new monthly award.
“Clinton works really hard, tried his best and is proud of what he does,” Lisa said.
“He is always happy to have a chat and say hello, and the other team members enjoy seeing him.”
Clinton is supported on his two five hour shifts by EPIC support worker Selena, who has worked with Clinton for over 6 years.
Clinton’s role involves unloading palettes of new stock and opening boxes. Previously, Clinton worked at the Target warehouse, and before that at Target Country.
“He’s grown in leaps and bounds since leaving the warehouse,” Selena said. “He gets his work done, and the other team members love working with him. Despite the fact that Clinton is largely non-verbal, he’s built great relationships with his work mates.”
Selena said that Clinton’s parents were also over the moon about his award when they found out about it. The fact that EPIC stays on the journey for as long as needed means that Clinton has been able to sustain long-term employment.
“EPIC have been a great support, we’ve not had a problem at all. Clinton’s support worker is amazing and sorts out any issues there may be,” said Lisa.
EPIC goes the extra mile for our job seekers and employers, staying on the employment journey for as long as required, ensuring the job match meets both the employee and employer’s needs.
