Purpose
EPIC Employment Service Inc (EPIC) maintains active social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter) for EPIC Assist, EPIC Shield, and Chapter 1 Employment. These channels exist to engage our customers and the wider community in conversations about inclusion, diversity, and the services we provide.
We encourage the sharing of ideas and opinions to allow for free and open discussion. We also want our social media channels to be places of respect, care, and kindness. To support this, we moderate all comments and activity across our channels.
Community Standards
All community members engaging on our channels are expected to communicate respectfully and constructively. Content that does not meet this standard will be removed, and/or result in an account being restricted or blocked.
Posts or comments will be deleted, or escalated if they contain or involve:
- Offensive, defamatory, threatening, harassing, bullying, discriminatory, hateful, racist, sexist, vulgar, or otherwise unlawful content, links, or images (including profile pictures).
- Promotion or advertising of products or services.
- Content that infringes on copyright or intellectual property rights.
- Repetitive or non-constructive engagement that disrupts normal conversation flow.
- Engagement patterns that are designed to provoke, derail, or create reputational or operational harm.
- Any other content that EPIC deems inappropriate or contrary to the spirit of these guidelines.
How We Moderate
Comments are enabled by default across all our social media channels. We use a combination of automated moderation tools and manual review to maintain a safe and constructive environment.
Our moderation approach operates as follows:
- Automated rules are used as the primary control layer to flag, filter, hide, or route comments that may require review.
- Flagged comments are reviewed by our team and actioned appropriately, including removal where warranted.
- Known sources of repeated disruptive engagement will be blocked from our channels.
- Genuine community engagement is separated from content requiring moderation to preserve the quality of discussion.
Our moderation approach is aligned with the community standards and policies of each platform we operate on, including Meta Community Standards and LinkedIn Professional Community Policies, as well as guidance from the Australian eSafety Commissioner.
Escalation and Blocking
We believe in the freedom to share opinions in line with the standards mentioned above and will make every effort to ensure community feedback is taken seriously. Where a member’s conduct requires escalation, we operate on the following basis:
- We will aim to contact authors whose comments breach this policy.
- If contact is required on more than three separate occasions, the account will be blocked from our channels.
- Accounts demonstrating a pattern of repeated, disruptive, or non-constructive engagement will be blocked at any point where this is considered necessary to protect the integrity of our channels.
- Blocking does not prevent individuals from raising concerns through other appropriate channels.
Moderation Hours
We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium. Automated moderation is always active. Our team will review flagged content and respond to messages at an appropriate time. We may not see every comment immediately and we trust our community to act responsibly in the event of negative online behaviour.
Intellectual Property
The EPIC brand is protected by trademark. We enforce the proper use of our intellectual property and will take appropriate action if we identify any page or account that infringes on the EPIC trademark.
Your Privacy
To protect your privacy, please do not include personal identifying information in your public posts, such as your email address, phone number, or other contact details.
