Six months’ success and counting for job seekers Sam and Danielle

Job seekers Sam and Danielle are successfully powering towards a huge milestone as they prepare to celebrate six months working with DDH Graham as office administrators.

“In the months they’ve been here since August, we’ve had nothing but positive compliments,” says DDH Graham Chairman, Peter.

Peter contacted EPIC Assist (EPIC) after learning about the organisation from a financial client. With EPIC’s support, Sam and Danielle have thrived in their roles and participated in aspects of the entire company operation.

“The carers at EPIC have really made a huge difference. They’ve bridged that gap and played a huge part in what’s made it successful,” explains Peter.

Sam and Danielle have had nothing but praise for Peter and DDH Graham. After struggling through previous tough work environments, Danielle was relieved to be welcomed into the team at DDH Graham and start renewing her self-esteem.

“The work environment is extremely awesome,” says Danielle. “The staff are beyond amazing. All of them are so friendly; they’re very kind and they give up their time to help us if we need any help.”

“I love to learn, and I want to learn as much as I can here, and once I think I’ve learnt everything, I can continue learning.”

Sam is looking forward to continuing to grow with DDH Graham in all areas of work and life. He is positive that, no matter the barriers, there is a position out there for everyone.

“If you’re looking for a job, don’t give up,” urges Sam.

Peter is passionate about providing employment opportunities for everyone who seeks the responsibility. He is hopeful that he can continue to raise disability awareness in the workplace through casual lunch seminars and discussions.

“We have had a number of participants at the disability seminar and they’ve all come away feeling positive,” says Peter.

“I just honestly think working with Sam and Danielle has been one of the best things we’ve ever done, and I’ve had that comment from a lot of our staff.”

EPIC offers support and training for job seekers wanting to find a job in their community.
