Each day Katinka bring her infectious personality and bubbly demeanour to work, bringing her team members up with her.

Katinka is employed part-time in an office administration role at the Tewantin Noosa RSL & Citizens Memorial Club.

Since starting her role, Katinka has grown in confidence and has become a valued member of the team. Katinka has excelled in numerous aspects of her job such as communicating with all staff members and working independently.

Our team worked with Tewantin Noosa RSL CEO Phil Stephenson to modify the office space for Katinka’s needs. One of the modifications included an electronic stapler as she is only able to use one of her hands.

Ari Thompson, EPIC Employment Consultant said “Katinka has never let her barrier to work affect her or hold her back. She has done nothing but excel and shine.”

We have been working with Tewantin Noosa RSL for 13 years, the club has had numerous employees in different roles over this time, some of whom are still employed independently by the club today.

“It’s now a culture. My staff expect to work with EPIC employees. They understand and do their best to let that staff member fit in,” Phil said.

In April 2016, Katinka was been given the fantastic news from CEO Phil Stephenson that they are happy to have her exit EPIC’s program as independent and have asked her to be a long-term employee for as long as she wishes to work there.

“She’s fantastic. She works on her own now and is faster than my other staff in her duties, she’s that good,” Phil said.

Katinka is thrilled with this news and says she is extremely happy that all of her hard work is paying off.

“Now I know I am doing well at my job and I am very happy to be able to keep this job and become independent,” she said.
