Federal Member for Brisbane Mr Trevor Evans met with EPIC Assist (EPIC) senior leaders this week to discuss major changes in the disability sector.

EPIC CEO Bill Gamack and General Manager Australasian Services Dean Graham met with Mr Evans, who is actively engaging with organisations in his electorate to further his understanding of their operations. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities within the disability sector.

Mr Gamack and Mr Graham updated Mr Evans on the proposed Disability Employment Service Framework (from March 2018) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which commences in Brisbane from 1 July 2018. EPIC is already delivering services under the NDIS in Victoria and Tasmania and provided Mr Evans with insight into the Scheme and how it will benefit people with disability in his electorate.

Mr Evans said he would like to remain in contact and encouraged EPIC keep in touch with developments in the sector
