By using your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package to undertake work preparation, you can get familiar with the routine and responsibility of working.
Work preparation training in real workplaces
Your work preparation training will take place in a real workplace. This means you will get the skills you need for paid employment in a real-world setting, not an imitation workplace. When you are ready to transition into paid work, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to succeed.
We come to you
Your work preparation will take place in your own community, at a business that suits your interests and goals. It’s important that your work preparation happens in the environment where you will be living and working, so that it is relevant to you. We will travel to you, to support you while you do your work preparation.
“My EPIC Transition Specialist has personally taken me out and introduced me to potential employers. It’s really helped build my confidence,” Anthony, Tasmania.
We get to know you as an individual
We take the time to get to know your strengths, goals and personality. EPIC doesn’t use a ‘one size fits all’ approach to getting you job-ready. Our staff will work with you one-on-one to determine your goals.
An EPIC Transition Specialist will be by your side every step of the way. You are never left to navigate the process alone. We will provide on-the-job support as you become familiar with your new workplace. If you have any skill gaps that need attention, we will help with training, mentoring and advice.
Each of our EPIC locations offer different options for work preparation under the NDIS, depending on the person’s disability and whether the NDIS is available in that region. Please contact us to find out what’s available in your area.
