Work preparation with the NDIS

FacebookTweetLinkedInEmail

At EPIC we offer a lot of different services to help our job seekers reach their employment goals. Our job seekers in Tasmania can use their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package to undertake work preparation, so they can get familiar with the routine and responsibility of working.

Job seekers outside of Tasmania can still access our services through self-referral, or through Disability Employment Services.

  • Work preparation training in real workplaces

Your work preparation training will take place in a real workplace. This means you will get the skills you need for paid employment in a real-world setting, not an imitation workplace. When you are ready to transition into paid work, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to succeed.

  • What to expect

    We come to you

Your work preparation will take place in your own community, at a business that suits your interests and goals. It’s important that your work preparation happens in the environment where you will be living and working, so that it is relevant to you. We will travel to you, to support you while you do your work preparation.

“The assistance that I have been given by my local office has been exceptional. I have never been treated so fairly. I have had my story listened to and their NDIS service is tailored to my needs. Thank you EPIC.” – Anthony, NPS Feedback

We get to know you as an individual

We take the time to get to know your strengths, goals and personality. EPIC doesn’t use a ‘one size fits all’ approach to getting you job-ready. Our staff will work with you one-on-one to determine your goals.

    Hands-on support

An EPIC Transition Specialist will be by your side every step of the way. You are never left to navigate the process alone. We will provide on-the-job support as you become familiar with your new workplace. If you have any skill gaps that need attention, we will help with training, mentoring and advice.

“I have found that, compared to any other agency that we have been to, EPIC has helped Melinda the most. They have given her a lot of recommendations for support groups, sporting clubs, and workshops that she can take part in, which she is very excited about. I think it is good that they aren’t just the to look for a job, but also to provide support.” – EPIC parent, NPS feedback
