Your disability should never stand in the way of finding a job you love. We believe everybody has the right to work, and we will do whatever it takes to help you achieve your employment goals.

It can be tricky to know where to start, and that’s where EPIC can help.

Connecting with EPIC

We support job seekers with disability through Disability Employment Services (DES). Find out if you are eligible today.

Connecting with EPIC is easy. You can connect with EPIC in three ways:

1. Through Centrelink

You have the power to choose your Disability Employment Services (DES) provider. If you are going to Centrelink for assistance in finding employment, ask for EPIC Assist as your disability employment service provider. We can help you liaise with Centrelink if you wish.

2. Register directly

You may register directly with EPIC. You will need to be eligible for Disability Employment Services (DES) – we can help you through the eligibility assessment process. Contact us to find out more.

3. Transfer from another provider

If you are with another Disability Employment Services (DES) provider and are not making progress or are unhappy with the service, you can ask to transfer to EPIC. We can help you with the process.

What to expect in your initial appointment with EPIC

In your first appointment with EPIC, you’ll meet our friendly disability employment services team. Our experienced Employment Consultants are dedicated to your employment journey and will help you to find and keep a job you love.

Before your first meeting with us, we’ll give you a call to introduce ourselves and our disability employment services. If you need a hand getting to the meeting, we can walk you through where our service centre is, how you can get there, and help you on your way. There’s no need to prepare anything beforehand – all you need is yourself and your ID.

During this meeting, we’ll take our time to get to know you, your skills, and interests so we can create a tailored Job Plan for you where you will thrive. Once we understand your employment goals, we’ll go over how we’ll work with you to find the right job, with the right support.

Your Employment Consultant will walk you through our disability employment services, registering with Centrelink, and how to get started with EPIC. If you need a little extra support here, we can liaise with Centrelink for you and guide you through the process of registering for Disability Employment Services.

We’re here to make your employment journey as simple as possible. If you’re uncomfortable meeting at one of our offices, we can arrange to meet with you at a coffee shop or another location close by. We’ll work with you every step of the way to find the best transport and meeting environment that works for you.

If you’re still unsure how to get started with EPIC’s disability employment services, please give us a call or visit one of our offices to talk about your individual circumstances.

Our EPIC services for people with disability

No two people with disability experience their disability in the same way. That’s why we offer a range of services that support people with disability at all different stages of the employment journey. Whether you already have a job or are looking for your very first one, we’re here for you every step of the way.

If you’re still unsure which EPIC program you should get started with, check out our snapshot of services for people with disability.

Disability Employment Services

We support people with disability, injury, a mental health condition, or a health condition to find and maintain work through Disability Employment Services. If you need support on your employment journey, we’ll do whatever it takes to help you reach your goals.

Traineeships and apprenticeships

Through Disability Employment Services, we can support you to locate and complete a traineeship or apprenticeship that will kickstart a great career. We also help Year 12 students transition from school to employment.

Work Assist

Our Work Assist team is working hard to provide employment support to employees with disability, injury, or illness who are at risk of losing their job. If you’re experiencing challenges at work, we may be able to help you to keep working.

Work preparation through NDIS

Job seekers with disability in Tasmania can use their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package to access work preparation support. We’ll help you get familiar with the skills and responsibility of working in a real workplace.

Support coordination

Our friendly Support Coordinators in Tasmania help you take control of your NDIS package, explore possibilities, and optimise your funding. We work together to understand the goals of your NDIS plan and why they are important to you.
