From 1 July 2018, the way Disability Employment Services (DES) deliver their services is changing. It’s a change that we are looking forward to at EPIC, as it will place choice and control back in the hands of our job seekers.
The changes mean you will have more power to choose and change your Disability Employment Service provider, and have more say in the services you receive, and when.
I’m already with EPIC, what do I need to do?
If you are already with EPIC, you do not need to do anything.
We will continue to support you to find and keep a job you love, and help you with ongoing support until you no longer need us.
We look forward to placing more control in your hands. From 1 July you can choose:
- where and when you meet with EPIC (during business hours)
- how you’d like to receive communication from EPIC
- what activities you complete that will contribute to reaching your goals
- what information is shared with potential employers.
If you have any questions about the oncoming changes, your Employment Consultant is happy to help.
What if I’m with another provider?
By now you should have received a letter from the Department of Social Services to let you know if your service provider will still be operating after 1 July 2018.
With some Disability Employment Service providers closing, we have been offered new areas to deliver our service.
EPIC is opening 23 more offices from 1 July this year, creating more opportunities for job seekers with disability to find jobs they are proud of. This will bring the total of EPIC’s Australian offices to 71, across Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania.
If your provider is closing, or you are unhappy with their services, you can make the move to EPIC today – you don’t need to wait until July.
To request a transfer, call the DSS National Customer Service Line on 1300 854 414 and explain that you would like EPIC Assist to be your new Disability Employment Services provider.
Alternatively, give us a call! We can talk you through the process of changing providers and answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to working with you.
How do I choose which provider to work with?
When choosing which Disability Employment Service provider best suits your needs, it’s important you have the information you need to make your decision. You may like to talk to your friends about their experiences, or check the provider’s star rating.
At EPIC we work hard to make sure our job seekers have a positive experience and are likely to refer us to their friends. Over the past 2 years we have asked our job seekers for their feedback about their experience with us. More than 5,000 customers have told us our strengths, and ways we can improve – and we’re working hard to make sure we do! We want to make sure our customers always receive a 10/10 experience.
What if no longer want to work with EPIC?
At EPIC we understand the journey to employment is not always easy.
We believe that all people with disability have a right to meaningful employment. We will do whatever it takes to help you find a job you love, no matter the circumstances.
However, if you are unhappy with the service you are receiving, please talk to your Employment Consultant or Office Manager. We will work with you to ensure you are getting the support you need.
You can also submit your suggestions for improvement anonymously via our feedback system.
